14/3/11-
With none of the
Kingston Crows teams
making it to the
Grand Finals the
Club held a wind up
function last
Saturday night that
incorporated the
Club Champions votes
for each grade.
In B2 Zac Scriber
basically led from
Game 1 and
convincingly won the
award.
B1 was much close
with Jason Jones
recording a narrow
victory over Chris
Honner.
The A Grade count
was one of the
closest in the
Club’s history with
up to 6 players in
the running with the
last card remaining.
Of those players
Andrew Henley
recorded 2 votes in
the Preliminary
Final while Scott
Sward polled 1 vote
and this saw them
tied on 14 votes.
Both these players
participated in B1
last year and they
both had great
seasons and the tie
was a fitting
result. Andrew or
“Mammi” as he is
known in cricket
circles has
intimated that he
will retire. If he
does so it will mean
the end of one of
the most illustrious
careers in the
Club’s history. His
determined attitude
to the game and his
wonderful mate ship
will be sorely
missed. I’m sure
that a number of
people will spend
the winter trying to
convince him to have
another crack.
The Club’s Annual
Dinner is to be held
on Friday 25th
March. Invitations
have been sent out
so please reply to
the appropriate
people.
Congratulations to
those teams that won
premierships last
Saturday.
Finally the Kingston
Crows Cricket Club
would like to extend
a big thank you to
Maureen and her team
at the Huon News for
the wonderful
support they show to
cricket in our
area.
See you next season.
